Can you show me how to make a fun kinetic Christmas card? We sure can!
We love making kinetic cards and they’re even more fun to receive. The best motion greetings carry a strong theme and bring to life certain elements of the design. Colette Smith decided to take it up a level this Christmas and create a greeting that doubles up as a game. Her Santa spinner card would make a great table party game as well as a greeting – make one for each of your friends, or you can even create a larger version. You can have fun changing the words on each section to suit the recipient. All you need is some coloured card, our Santa templates,
letter dies and a brad.
1. Download the Santa templates and cut the brim, moustache and beard from white card and a hat from red. Punch a 5cm circle from peach card, a 1cm circle of white card and two small circles from black and pink card.
2. Assemble Santa and matt onto gold card, then punch a hole just above the moustache. Cut two 14cm circles from green and red card. Divide each circle into six segments.
3. Stick the segments onto a 14cm circle of card, alternating the colours. Punch a hole in the centre. Punch two 2.5cm circles from white card, glue together, then punch a hole in the middle. Glue this to the centre of the larger circle, lining up the holes.
4. Push a pink brad through the Santa and circle. Die cut ‘Naughty’ and ‘Nice’ from gold card and stick them to the segments. Matt the circle onto a 15cm square white blank and decorate the
corners with gold stars.
